Officials worry urinating swimmers may be reason for 500 dead fish
May be the anglers should think of using what they call scarecrows - or, in this
case, scarebathers or bather-scarers - to fool them into staying away from the
lake.
Look, nothing can scare (or kill) and, therefore, deter like piranhas. The
scenes of swarming piranhas stripping all flesh from bathers'legs and thighs right under
their very eyes before they could get away in time can be frightening.
It's inconceivable that people don't know what piranhas can do to them; so if they see signs such as this, they
know what to do:
AND MAY BE BREEDING FAST!
CAUTION: AVOID GOING NEAR OR BATHING IN THE LAKE AT
ALL COSTS!
-- Put up by Good Samaritan.
I hope the bathers know what a piranha is.

The Chinese reportedly want to send agents to poison the Dalai Lama
write way to riches
This what I posted on MSNBC Newsvine today.
SyriaInTurmoil
He must be really in danger for him, a man of kindness and
compassion, to come out with that type of statement. But his Holiness is not worried
about his own safety. He doesn't want to die because he knows it won't be in the
interests of the suffering Tibetans.
If it happens, then they don't only lose
freedom but hope too.
I have Chinese blood running through my veins too, though
not 100%, but I sympathize with the Dalai Lama. Why the Chinese hate him so much? This
is my two cents: revenge! The Chinese government could not forgive him for orchestrating
the 1959 uprising. But at the same time it was the Dalai Lama that brought Tibet into
China though unintentionally through his defeat and exile to India. China used to occupy
Tibet; but grudgingly it behaved as an occupying power, not defacto leader or owner of
the territory.
But after the uprising failed, and Tibet was leaderless for a
while, everything changed: China began to want the Buddhist Kingdom as one of its
territories and that means it must rid Tibet of all traces of its history, language,
culture and customs - everything must be removed (completely) and then announce to the
world that Tibet was Chinese, is Chinese and will be Chinese.
The world (the
manhoodless world which is led by the US government) is even prepared to swallow that, I
mean go along with the falsifying of Chinese ownership of Tibet. Which is akin to saying
MuayThai belonged to China or came from China.
that, the Dalai Lama, the one and only Dalai Lama is still alive, and ubiquitous! Which
pisses off the Chinese rulers. And they (the Chinese government) knows that as long as
the Tibetans continue to receive blessing from him or another Dalai Lama who succeeds
him, China cannot hope to win over their minds completely.
The best they can do is
to deprive them of freedom to practice their religion or to live according to Tibet's
traditional customs and norms. But it will take a lot more to break their minds. But the
chances of the Chinese succeeding is very slim as the Chinese at certain time will have
to answer for their Karma.
His Holiness while not aggressive or violent by nature,
is not a timid man to agree to fade away just to preserve his own life either. He has
shown a remarkable courage in facing up to the endless onslaughts from
the Chinese.
Perhaps being more well-versed about the effect of Karma (those who do good earn merits
and live a healthy and happy life by them, while those who do bad will suffer) than
anyone alive, has made the Holiness believe that those who were cruel to Him and His
people will not last long: their days are numbered. He may be awaiting the day of days
when he will return triumphant to his homeland, and rule again.
Far-fetched?
Far-fetched or not, he doesn't care. He knows everyone will pay for his Karma, whether
that person believes in Buddhist teaching or not. Nobody can escape. It's just a matter
of time. When your time arrives, off you go. You will be taken whether you you've
repented, asked for and received forgiveness, or have changed your way, or not.
This the Dalai Lama knows only too well. And the more His Holiness is confident, the more
insecure becomes the Chinese government. That's why they won't rest until they get rid
the holy monk, or their Karma get them first.

The Chinese blind lawyer
This what I posted MSNBC Newsvine discussion of news of the imminent triumph of the
Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood in the coming presidential election.
I think the Muslim Brotherhood will be the chosen one.
They have long
prepared for this, almost can taste the sweetness of their succes (of complete control
of Egypt); so don't expect them to tread carefully like before the parliamentary
election any more. They don't have to.They have the numbers now.
That's why they
were cheeky enough to step forward to offer their candidate for president.Since the Arab
spring was unleashed, their chances had never been better.
Tunisia, Libya, Egypt and had replenished their ranks and boosted their confidence so
much that they dared to take on Assad's army in Syria.
In Syria, unlike in Egypt
where they needed to tread carefully, is free for all.
Anybody - the Arab
leaque, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, can have a shot. No question asked, nobody
cares whether it's right or wrong to interfere in the internal affairs of an independent
country. The question of sovereignty was not taken seriously any more.
If you
don't like certain leader for a reason, instigate his citizens to protest, then use that
as an excuse to defame that leader. It's simple. It's effective. It had worked well in
Libya (A mere 50 people protested, at first, and then became 500 and 5000. And we
accused their leader of firing on his own people. And then we went all out to oust that
leader.
The funny thing is when the former prime minister Absit ordered the Thai
army to suppress the protests in Bangkok where up to ninety people were killed, the US
performed a hiatus. Neat again. Nowadays A lot of people see more double standards being
played out than they can stomach, but what can they do? Nothing. Powerless. So keep
silent. You think these Saudi Arabia or Bahrain or Qatar's leaders are angels? They are
many times worse than Assad.
In Syria which is secular, everyone is free to
practice his religion; women are free. You can carry a bible in public in Syria and no
harm will come to you. If there is any, it definitely comes from the Muslim Brotherhood,
not Assad or his secret police.
But try doing that in Saudi Arabia and you will be
beheaded in public square.
I wonder what had happened to the journalist who wrote
in Facebook page that Saudi women will not go to hell because they are already in hell?
I hope he's alright. But I am afraid my wish will be futile. By any account, he could be
history already.
I will be surprised if he's still alive.
I sometimes
wonder what is the US' principle or fierce protection of human rights, no matter they
are threatened? Does it support human rights anymore? Why it chooses and picks whose
human rights it wants to protect.
The world is getting crazier every
minute.
But the craziest thing by far is the foreign policy of Uncle Sam; it seems
lost as to where to go or whose human rights it should declare non-negotiable. The
Chinese blind lawyer's?

President Nicolas Sarkozy lost in second round of the presidential election
write way to riches
This is what I posted on MSNBC Newsvine discussion on news/topic concerning the
French president's defeat in the just concluded presidential election.
I don't know about Obama having or can continue to have a hard-on, but I want to say
this. I had been more than just hinting to these western leaders that what they had in
mind when they descended on Libya would one day return to haunt them and they would
suffer the same fate as the fate they dished out to Col. Gaddafi, but they wouldn't
listen!
As I can recall, among the loudest of calls for the toppling and even, if
necessary he said, killing of the Libyan leader, was from the former British defense
secretary Liam Fox.
Inevitably he was the first to taste a dose of his own
medicine. He was bundled out in shame. But that's not all. More will befall him soon,
undoubtedly.
According to Buddhism, we live well or like in hell in this world
due to our actions, Karma.
All my life I had been giving (to stray dogs and cats)
rather than receiving charity. My karma, believe or not, had made me indestructible. I
don't know if I could stop a bullet (like the black smith in the movie Curse Of The
Ring, who forged a sword out of an ore that one night fell from the sky and used it to
kill a dragon whose skin was supposed to be impenetrable. After, by accident, digesting and bathing in
the slain dragon's blood, he also became invincible just like the dragon; but both had
weak, vulnerable spots in their bodies which they must never reveal to anyone, or
they'd be done for) but I could stop a one-ton lorry!
I did.
My house and,
by extension, my carport was much lower than the road. The steepness of the slope was
so that gravity will pull anything that can move towards my house down below. And I
believed that gravity moved my one-ton lorry that night many years ago.
I was
too busy fumbling with the lock and was totally unaware my lorry was speeding towards
me until it was too late.
It hit my back squarely at my spinal cord, pushing me
against the solid steel gate so hard that the right frame of my solid steel gate which
was fastened to the carport's pillar, was lifted clear off the floor to become higher
than the left frame (in oder to clear the hole in which the locking iron rod was stuck
3 inches deep when the gate remained closed). My first thought was I was going to die.
I have often heard about people being killed when run over or knocked down by
cars.
But I lived. It's indeed a miracle, nothing less, to have survived to tell
this story.
Then another thought passed through my mind. An old lady, when told
that I had been feeding hundreds, if not thousands, of stray dogs and cats for years
and would not stop until I died, predicted: "A person like you would be blessed by
Allah and would never suffer from poverty, ill health or bad luck. Just look at me, I
am not rich, my house is almost ramshackled, but I cared for these eight Siamese cats
(and as if to repay her kindness, the lovely cats surrounded and grated round her
ankles).
"I believed Allah would take care of me; just like he'd take care of all
those who do good -people like you," she added while nodding at me.
Liam Fox got
a minor inconvenience due to his own actions, and knew it. But more will follow.
However, LIam Fox needn't have to be lonely anymore now that former president of France
had joined him!
And he can expect more (those who went cahoots with him to make
the late Gaddafi history) to join him.
They were in cahoots once to sow, now they
all shall go cahoots again to reap what they sowed.
It's karma.

Exotic Pets Released by Husband Returned to Wife
write way to riches
This what I posted MSNBC Newsvine discussion of news of Exotic Pets Released by husband before he committed suicide, returned to wife.
SyriaInTurmoil
I agree one hundred percent the so-called animal rights protectors kill more than they save, many times over.
They never really try to help. They would slaughter most of the animals that their owners just turned in, soon after their owners left. Except in certain cases when the surrendered animals were high-priced, much sought-after Persian cats, which the PETA people would readily adopt them themselves or sell them for monetary gains.
Thank God the wife, Mrs.Thomson, was concerned enough to take them home.
Even if the caretaking could be better, it's still the best option for the poor animals.
May I suggest to the kind woman? Be a little kinder: make a vow to build a large enough cage to have a lily pond, or a pond filled with fresh water and large stones for the animals to perch on, and a mini jungle to attract birds and allow the animals to feel as if they are living in the wilds, and prove her critics wrong. If she really cares for those animals, and can prove it, there is no reason why a Facebook account cannot be created to appeal for donations.
It will take some convincing though.
They should be left at the zoo? Not on the animals' life! Who says the zoos care for the animals they cage?
Try asking them to utilize some of their profit and fence in a large area and have a pond with water and large stones built in it, and plant some trees, for the animals to roam and breathe some fresh air, and wait for the their ridiculous replies: lack of space, lack of funds. How about: lack of concern?
I have come across many zoos where animals clearly wish they are dead.
They are put in small cages... for a reason. Zoo visitors can have better views of the animals and their performances. The smaller cages the better for the said reason.
Some visitors are also nasty; especially young boys, mischievous boys, who will taunt the poor tigers or monkeys or bears, making them restless; or throw poisonous, harmful things like cigarettes or expired batteries at them!
Some animals die quickly and some fall sick as a result, and have to be put to sleep.
You are free to give your suggestion, but please..leave the zoos, PETA or the RSPCA or their cousin organizations out of it.
These organizations are well known for their roles - to publicly display animals to make money out of them, or for the later, to put them out of their miseries.
Don't listen to these people. I don't. When I see donation boxes put up by these organizations I ignore them.
You should...too!
