The following stories may fire your imagination, pique your interest. Some say 1MDB is Malaysia's Sovereign Wealth fund; to others they asked what wealth fund when its total capitalization is just One million ringgit? But, then again, if you think you can look down on the pet idea of the Malaysian prime minister, think again. His idea has the potential of turning the now world famous - or shall we say, infamous - 1Malaysia Development Berhad into a giant corporation you can ever imagine - even bigger than Bill Gate's Microsoft! At least, it could be, if the original course is stayed. It was supposed to inspire Malaysians to think big besides advance growth, according to its slogans screaming out of giant bill boards throughout the country. 'Backed' by the finance ministry who owns it - which means money will never be the problem - it can only succeed. But..it didn't. It failed! That's why it may have piqued many people's curiosity. How can a company flush with cash and can borrow any amount (billions) anytime could fail? Well, this may be in line with your thinking. People have seen since its inception - I mean after its name was changed in 1999 from Trengganu Investment Authority (TIA) to the present - it hasn't done any business! I have used present tense deliberately. It hasn't done any business yet. I mean if you are in business you need to make profit or find ways to make profit. Or close shop. Oh, I had heard about their filings of tax returns and hiring of a couple of internationally known auditors to sign off on their balance sheets; but these concerned only the company's borrowings and interests to be paid. Two massive bonds were issued to the tune of $7 billions. To buy up power plants. Again I want to say if you are in business to make money even investing in independent Power Plants, it should be done with the view to making a profit. The decision may be long term or short term, it doesn't matter, it has to make money, or no deal. May be they have done the right thing. Maybe luck was not on their side. Still, the amount is staggering. I didn't know having or managing so much money can be a problem! But many - especially the Malays - have not given up hope yet. Yes, may be the durians are just ripening; may be they need time and may fall soon!

Malaysia's Vision 2020

By:David Lang

Malaysia is supposed to be on its way to becoming a developed nation, by the year 2020. Will she make it (in less than five years -tick-tuck, tick-tuck)? There is no doubt the year 2020 is coming whether the country is ready or not, and if that will be the only requirement then Malaysia will attain that developed nation status on schedule. There is a question, though, Will Malaysia, or Malaysians, for that matter, be ready for that status as far as their affluence, quality of life's concern? Currently Malaysia's GNI per capita stood at US$10060. According to the World Bank high income economies are those with GNI per capita of US$12,745. And until Malaysians earn much more to be there, the developed nation status may not be achieved even by the year 2020. The futility of declaring a country a high income country when it's not, achieves nothing. May be even counter-productive; it lulls the country into false sense of success and premature celebration. Don't forget China reportedly overtook Japan as the world's second largest economy, but in actual fact China's citizens' ca pita income is a fraction of the incomes of the Japanese who earn $37,000. Chinese incomes range from $13,000. China's gross domestic product, taken as a whole, may beat Japan's, but in term of quality of life, and GNI per capita income, the criteria for a developed nation status, China still has a lot of catching up to do. That's why China still qualifies as recipient of Japan's economic aid meant for developing countries. Comparing with the Chinese per capita domestic product, Malaysia is even worse off. Unless the government bucks up and rushes to create more wealth for its citizens, the Vision 2020 dream may remain just that ..a dream.

'MCA go home' vs 'Where was DAP 13 years ago?' at Jonker Walk

'MCA go home' vs 'Where was DAP 13 years ago?' at Jonker Walk
What?! Gan qualified his being there as a survey, not to protest? Let alone to lead the protest? Did Mr. Gan Tian Loo realize that the MCA protest carries more weight than DAP protest many times over. The state government, being UMNO-led government, considers the DAP as the opposition working hand-in-hand with PAS and PKR to oust UMNO from power, rescinding the directive on the request from DAP leaders will make the party even more popular. I thought, at first, here come the MCA, finally to do what it's supposed to do. Then the expected  happened. He got cold feet. The reporter who covered the protest reported Gan was suddenly cautious . He was like ..."I'm here to lend my support to..the .. no, wait! I am not here to support the traders - but just to do a quick survey! But I am glad to be standing here with the protesters but reporters, please put it down in black and white I am not, I repeat, am not here as part of the protest. This is the reason the MCA was shunned, I mean has been shunned by the Chinese. They do not represent the Chinese anymore. They cannot get things done anymore unlike in the old days. Gan admitted his meeting with the chief minister was fruitless, but would keep trying. Keep trying for what? He should stop embarrassing the MCA and reducing its credibility further by continuing to beg despite being rebuffed earlier. Again, this proved that the Malaysian Chinese Association has really completely lost its usefulness. If a small matter like Jonker Walk closure was beyond its power then, that 's it.

'Exposed Meat' Bad If Too Much Could Affect Desire

The Drl Blog

It is a wrong cure for men who can't control themselves.

It's completely preposterous to say if you cover up tender spots on women bodies like the necks or thighs, women will not be attacked or harassed (touched) and raped. Actually, believe it or not, if women were to display more flesh, I mean, yes (you heard me), display more flesh all year round, all over the place as a matter of habit, it will cool many people's sexual desire. That's what the religious leaders do not want.

They will fight tooth and nail to keep their biological urge alive and kicking - by not always having to look at too much exposed meat (according to one imam in Sydney, Australia) and blunt their eyes' er sensitiveness and sense's stimuli, which man and animals need to become aroused.

These faculties, as sight, hearing and smell, taste or touch, by which men and animals perceive stimuli originating from outside or inside the body (mostly opposite sex bodies), are important faculties to get man aroused.. When people publicly, officially, or religiously require women to cover up, it may have something to do with religious purity, I don't know for sure; but what I know (from experience) it's more about preserving the intensity of the food for the eyes. I am not talking about being easy on the eyes (beauty and handsomeness). I am talking about a man seeing nakedness as a common, everyday sight. Most will welcome and become curious and aroused, at first; so do be careful, if anyone wants to try this at home.

But after a while, I can't pinpoint how long, but if you or whoever keeps staring at exposed meat (according to an Australian imam) will likely have less desire (especially for that exposed meat that you have been staring at day in and day out). In the end, you are unable or harder and harder to become aroused with the same "exposed meat." Which could include your wife unless she's careful and always acts coyly as a habit.

I mentioned I speak from experience. Yes. One day I came to know a woman, a married woman in her thirties inching to forty, if not there already, who was as coy as a virgin girl. According to my sister who was quite close to her and stumbled on some secrets of this middle age woman. One of which was she never allowed her husband to look at her while she's undressing or changing. She would politely asked her husband to leave the room always.

But why, I asked my sister:" Hadn't the man seen everything already? They were married for decades? And that's the beauty of it -- the man's not complaining at all. On the contrary his desire and taste, not to mention love, for his wife remained as strong as the day they went for honeymoon. And, unlike most men who tire of their wives after they become old (and over-exposed their meats), my sister's friend's husband would probably find his wife as desirable as when they went for their honeymoon. This was precisely what Australian controversial imam or other clerics meant when they tirelessly campaign for women to cover up. To preserve their spices of life. For instance, because women are supposed to hide their breasts and vaginas, these private parts become taboos and so titillating!

Some men, especially first timers, could cum right there in front of a nude prostitute lying with her thighs spread wide on the bed because he found the stimuli too much for him.

Once upon a time, when in my youth and also a first timer, I joined a group of friends to hire prostitutes just for a lark. That was when I discovered what they call premature ejaculation. This guy (I shall call him only Wong) who couldn't wait, went in first.

I forgot to mention prostitute, not prostitutes, as we went for the same one, all six of us! Weird, the fellow went to the bathroom first, before reemerging and entering the room where the girl sprawled on the bed waiting with her legs spread wide, exposing her vagina. But we didn't know what transpired until the man opened the door and let us in while he headed for the bathroom, again.

The hooker didn't move even after we barged into the room, probably expecting us to take turns to go for her too. That's the deal. But now our friend had returned from the bathroom and surprisingly, wanted to have her again. So soon, we thought or asked? Then, only then, the rest of us were let on the secret or problem. Our friend suffered from premature ejaculation. Even after masturbating and ejaculated in the bathroom only seconds ago, the dude could surprisingly get his penis erect again; but alas, before he could penetrate half way in her he shot his loads again! That's why the girl lay still. She had agreed to allow him another assault. That's why he went to the bathroom again. When he returned and attempted another intercourse and failed he gave up.

There obviously was nothing wrong with Wong; he was a little bit over-sensitive, that's all. Did he regret being over-sensitive? I don't know, he never complained. He could have downed a few beers or stouts to numb his senses and over-excited loin. But he didn't; he probably preferred premature ejaculation to feeling no intense pleasure at all.

So, you see, people don't want to lose that feeling when they see a woman, - not exposed meat - that biological urge (that describe a couple having sex or locked in a heady embrace as having no fear even of bombs exploding near them).

But if you have been seeing ...well, exposed meat too much that's exactly what will happen. Hence this is nothing but fake righteousness or concern to protect women from men's dalliance or lust - but to preserve their own spices. But don't get me wrong I am not commenting on PAS' Siti Zailah.

Being a woman there's no way of her acting in a selfish manner. At worst, she could be just echoing her male colleagues' opinions.

Anyway, to blame a rape victim for triggering the attack by exposed meat was just a myth. Even a woman covered from head to toe could be a victim; she could arouse men by just exposing her neck or armpit; in fact, being forever covered from head to toe and her desirability increased 10-fold, she could trigger an attack against her by just lifting her black burqa up to her knees!

Why? Because by covering up totally, she's regarded as a pure, mysterious and desirable object.

That's why when western tourists go to the mid-eastern countries they become objects of desire and often rapes. Why, it's easy to see why. The Arabs are starved of exposed meats (again quoting the infamous Australian cleric).

Just a bit of tender flesh is enough to make them lose control. Similarly, when you saw a blue movie for the first time, how did yo feel? You felt like cumming right there in full view of other patrons right? The combination of surprise, suspense, amazement, sensation and pleasure were too much; you felt like taking out your cock and masturbating right there.

I remember how I felt when I went to a private house to view a blue movie for the first time. It felt so good I wanted more, and went back many times. I needed an introduction before the man (owner) agreed to let me in. Sometimes the owner became crazy he allowed us to watch several reels for one payment. Sometimes the man asked his daughter to load the film and she even watched the movies with us standing next to the projector. Some among the audience could not control themselves and their hands disappeared into their white Indian sarongs.

For these men they became overcome because they had never before seen such movies! These things or incidents I just described - my sister's friend's husband behaviors and those of the audience at the house of blue movies - happened the way they did because of being starved of the stimuli such as seeing, hearing or smelling the senses our faculties needed and rekindled every time we saw "exposed meats." The righteous ones who fight tooth and nail for women to cover up are less about protecting women's modesty than preserving the spices of life for their own selfish, hidden secret enjoyment.

The less "exposed meats" they see they know they more they clamor to see and imagine or visualize what is under the clothes and underwear!

It's said men, however old they are are are addicted to sex and want to be able indulge in one if it's available. The point is to have desire (for sex) for without it life is meaningless. And there's no surer way to lose that desire than continuously being exposed too much to "exposed meats," again to quote the well-respected Sydney imam.

Alcohol Effect: (PAS' ) Muslims Concerned About Non-Muslims' Health?

Why the Malays are now so obsessed with, sic, helping to protect the non-Malays from the harms of drinking alcohol? It's sure a new phenomenon; it never happened before. Or just another ruse to interfere in other people's lives under the pretext of concern? I wonder if these people as Muslims ever drink beer or whiskey, otherwise how do they know the side effects of consuming alcohol? My point is let the non-Muslims be; if they want to endanger their own health - let them suffer the consequences of their choice. Let them live their lives the way they see fit sans our interference. I agree drinking alcohol is no good unless you restrict it to social drinking; but that doesn't give me the right to demonize people for drinking. For example, if I see a Malay man buying or paying for cartons of Guinness stout at supermarket, I cannot tell him.."Hey, look here...drinking stout too much can kill and you as Muslim shouldn't be doing this!" We should mind our own business. There's no telling how the man will react. Actually it's true, drinking Guinness stout, especially warm ones can increase your blood pressure through the roofs and, by extension, your mortality. I had come across many senior citizens who had nothing to live for after the deaths of their wives, took to drinking stouts to hasten their demise. Lest Guinness stout manufacturer misunderstands, all stouts other than Guinness can also kill. In fact, alcohol whether from a beer, whiskey, or toddy, cam kill. All it takes is to drink until you need to drink to become normal! Do you wish to know more?

The Real McCoy (Of Thai Boxing)

The Drl Blog

This movie (how Tong Po beat up John Van Dame, and then in the end, Tong Po got beaten up by John Van Dame in return to make things look more believable) was all about Tong Po. The real McCoy of Thai boxing. Every Dick, Tom and Harry would like to have a shot at him and, if possible, beat him and beat him good - to stamp his mark as a credible kick boxer.

Even Jon Van Dame couldn't help jumping on the bandwagon.

Yes, even John Van Van Dame, an established fighter by any standard, needed that recognition - needed to have Tong Po's scalp under his belt to prove his (vanity) case.

Fortunately for him, though, Van Dame not only has skill he also has means. So to beat the real McCoy of Thai kick boxing and humiliate him (Tong Po) to make his movies even bigger box- office successes in the future.

Moreover this was the only way for Van Dame or any boxer for that matter, to beat this Thai super-fit boxer: ask him to agree to lose the fight intentionally! John Van Dame would write the script or ask someone else to do it in such a way that John Van Dame would emerge the winner.

Tong Po would be convinced that this was (the way of) a movie, a make- believe project that has only one hero - Van Dame. In exchange for his 'acting' in the movie, he could demand his pay, which he did. Tong Po did demand a high price, I believe, to lower his reputation and buttress that of his opponent in the ring, and at the end of the day laughed all the way to the Bank of Thailand.

Of course, both were the same; they wanted something out of this game of death. Tong Po wanted the pay check to dwarf that of the richest purse for top Thai fighter; so that he could escape being paid to be willing punching bag for aspiring or diminishing champions, in future.

While Van Dame got what he - and a whole lot of boxers of all sizes - wanted so much: beating the real McCoy of Thai kick boxing, the result did turn off many of his die-hard fans who might find the project a farce. He might even lose a few ticket-buying fans, and lower box-office receipt. Then he would find reigning supreme in the martial art world means little and little.

Even Steven Segal would definitely be wary to take him on! But then again, this cheap shot at glory only proved one thing. Tong Po was magnificent, fearless, fearsome, master of his trades, and a fighter like no other who could best anyone in the ring.

But watching this movie caused me to be transported back to another ringside in downtown Bangkok many, many years ago to witness the tournament to decide who could destroy who - (real, live, and not make-believe one) Thai boxing vs. Chinese Kungfu years ago. Another movie protagonist who's as muscular as John Van Dame and who's easy on the eyes too is Lorenzo Lamas. Despite being able to throw quick punches like German anti-aircraft guns, he did not seek to bolster his ego through out-punching Tong Po in Thailand. Maybe he didn't need to!

Contaminated Blood Coursing Through Muslim Veins A No-No?

Listen to this. The Muslim authorities (in Malaysia) who are known to be uncompromising when it comes to Islamic regulation after decreed by their fatwas, are actually quite compromising after all. All it takes is if there are protests that they have approval from Islamic authorities, and that they employ almost 100% Muslims!

An Exercise in Futility

If I were Yeoh Bee Yin, I would desist, forthwith; for for whatever reasons she wanted to get involved (further) in Permata's affairs, I say, don't. In fact, now that the matter had not deteriorated to the point of no-return, yet, (she had yet to be allowed to inspect Permata's accounts and unlikely to happen and had not done so, meaning she has nothing to threaten the Permata people with; and actually had never entertained such idea at all in the first place), she should abstain from further involving herself in Permata affairs before she steps on people's toes - or ruffles feathers, as they say. Leave it while you can.

The American People's Great Experiment

The unknown - not to mention inexperienced - Illinois senator (from 2005 to 2008) who did the unthinkable, dreamed big, a frog wanting to be an ox, actually who overcame all the odds, conquered Mt Everest - to snatch the US presidency (he shouldn't have run for at all in the first place) from his first opponent (New York senator Hilary Clinton) who was so much more qualified than him that she was considered a shoo-in for the Democratic Party's nomination, and his second opponent a Vietnam war hero and prisoner of war, John McCain; both out-classing him in all human endeavors and achievement.

But he beat them both, to become the first ever black president of the predominantly white Unites States of America.

Barack Hussein Obama became the 44th president of America because the American people wanted to experiment or shall we say, let their hearts, not their heads, guide their action.

Did the American voters err in voting in someone who shouldn't have attempted to run for president at all. Are they - have they been - kicking themselves for their lapse of  judgement? They probably are. The havoc that President Obama had rained down on American society for the last eight years , and the irreparable damage that his administration had inflicted on America would take years, may be hundred years to be undone.

He prioritized helping the American Muslim community which later went on to not discriminate against new Muslim arrivals to the extent that they were exempted from the miseries brought by the Obama Care. What's more, Eric Holder, the attorney-general, pointedly forbade bad-mouthing the Muslims which he considered against the law, and breakers would be punished!

He forced the Obama Care down the throats of Americans as was but one example. And there are many. But thank God, the Al-mighty God, the American Constitution came to the rescue of the poor American people. The rampaging Barack Obama who always made it clear he wanted to restore the glory of his ancestors' religion, Islam, is on the way out in November!

No one is wiser than our forefathers who wisely limited the term of office of the US president to eight years.

Otherwise, may God save the American people!

Now where were we? Oh, yes: how a one-term senator from Illinois could think so big, let alone actually realized his dream?

This is how: (Thanks for your comments (fellow Newsvine columnists) to my less-than-perfect article - positive or negative. I also like to point out, I was not a born hater of President Obama. In fact, I was undecided whether he deserved to be  president, in that he had won the presidency or even the democratic nomination dubiously or not although there were many doubts even unconnected with his inability to produce his long form birth certificate, expressed by many Americans.

I didn't make up my mind because of race; I didn't judge people because of their skin color or upbringing. Rather his actions.

Since day one, I have watched this man's unscrupulous deeds. During the battle for nomination against Hillary Clinton, he cleverly made use of MSNBC talk show hosts - their names need not be mentioned here - to attack his opponents - from Hillary Clinton to John McCain and Sarah Palin - with round-the-clock soundbite, unparalleled in US history of presidential elections - while at the same time, paraded himself as plaster saint. Lest we forget, Obama won both the elections in 2008 not by contrasting what he could with what his opponents capable of but by employing third persons to destroy their credibility. In Sarah Palin's case, Katie Couric (also of MSNBC) was enlisted to do everything possible to render the former Governor of Alaska unworthy of being John McCain's running mate and, therefore by extension, not fit to be president in the unlikely event of John McCain dying prematurely or on the job.

A purported interview was set up for Katie Couric (a pliable and for-sale journalist) to ask silly questions intended solely to demean the governor with crystal clear objective! Questions such as, "How many newspapers or magazines have you read, governor?" "What?!,'" Sara Palin asked back, taken back by the unnecessary question. She said sarcastically, "'You heard me." Okay, if you can't understand my English I will rephrase my questions: "'Have you ever read a newspaper or a magazine?'" That Katie Couric could ask such ridiculous questions, proved beyond reasonable doubt that she was set up to conduct the interview for a reason.

Yeoh Bee Yin - Trending Now

This is typical of Chinese who have made it - whether as a writer or politician - to step forward
to do the unthinkable or the unpalatable (you decide) to make a name for themselves, even though
they may end up appearing like sore thumbs among the unsuspecting crowds with open mouth gasps.

Often time have I come across these type of people - I call them opportunists.
At the height of the onslaught the former prime minister launched against the present prime
minister he had said had stopped endorsing, many people tried to score brownie points. They
don't have to rush to the defense of the (current) PM; they just need to whack Tun or write a
convincing story (article) to demonize him, and that's all it's asked.

One such person or
opportunist, as I can recall, was a Malaysiakini contributer - Julia Yiaw.

Ms Yiaw is a Chinese, of course, judging by her name. The last person to comment on the tussle
between these two titans of Malay politics, but she saw fit to be involved anyway. Thank God,
however, for her sake, she wisely aimed her criticisms at a certain, correct party!

Back then, I was almost convinced she was a commissioned writer - paid (commissioned writers are
paid  higher rate) to do a donkey or dirty job. What she wrote to wash dirty linen in public of Dr
Mahathir was largely a hearsay. Yet she tackled her task (faking crimes of Dr Mahathir, during his
22 years as prime minister of Malaysia) with a broadside that belied her sincerity.

Like Katie Couric of the US when she worked for the MSNBC talk-show hosts in support of Obama's historic
presidential campaign, when she was roped in by the Obama camps to do damage control for Senator
Obama, after John McCain roped in Sarah Palins in order to shrink the one-term senator from
Illinois's commanding lead started to bear fruits - or shall we say, to do damage to McCain's
running mate? - by getting the naive journalist to ask silly questions like .."Governor, how many
newspapers or magazines have you read?!" When Sarah Palins asked back: 'What? she went on to ask
the interviewee: 'Govenor, have you read a newspaper in your life?!' - this not-so-naive Julia
Yiaw thought she was doing the national service by doing the minced meat of Dr Mahathir..who she
opined "had committed many excesses worse than the present prime minister's!"

There are many writers or politicians - especially writers - who will know when to strike when
the iron is hot. The fact that they are Chinese - the race that has accepted that they have been
demonized non-stop and discriminated by the Malay NGOs and authorities in Malaysia  - making their stepping forward in favor of the authorities more meaningful, or a bigger sore thumbs in the process.
